Meet the Herd: Bob
A Heart for the Work
Bob is one of the most senior members of the HWH herd, though his energy level suggests he has no plans of slowing down. A true professional who thrives on being active, Bob is at his happiest when he is on the move and engaging with his riders.
Bob is the epitome of patience and kindness. He stands reliably still while riders find their balance in the saddle, but the moment they are secure, he is ready to get to work. He approaches every task with his whole heart, whether he is navigating ground poles, steering through cone patterns, or perfecting his circles. His enthusiasm for learning and movement makes him a joy to work with for both students and volunteers.
Strength and Heritage
As a sturdy Haflinger, Bob brings a background of hard work and endurance to the program. Before joining HWH, he spent years as a trail horse, an experience that helped him maintain the excellent physical condition he enjoys today.
His longevity and "shiny" health are a testament to the comprehensive care provided by Barn Manager Joanne and the dedicated volunteer team. Bob benefits from a specialized wellness program that includes:
Nutrition: A balanced diet and supplements designed to support his joints, hooves, and coat.
Professional Care: Regular visits from the blacksmith and equine dentist to keep him comfortable.
Wellness Checks: Routine preventative care and specialized visits from the vet and equine chiropractor whenever needed.
A Friendly Face at the Farm
Bob is a proud member of the HWH family and takes his role as an ambassador seriously. He is always eager to greet visitors between his lessons and looks forward to making new friends. If you happen to be at the farm, be sure to stop by and say hello to this seasoned gentleman—he’ll be the one waiting with a kind eye and a ready spirit.
