Honoring the Spirit and Impact of Horses
Every year on December 13th, horse lovers, riders, and advocates across the country come together to celebrate National Horse Day. Established by Congress in 2004, this special day allows us to pause and show appreciation for the massive economic, historical, and cultural contributions that horses have made—and continue to make—to our daily lives.
From the hard-working draft horses that plowed our early agricultural fields to the therapeutic companions helping people heal today, horses are deeply woven into our collective history.
Why We Celebrate
Horses are much more than beautiful animals, or vital economic drivers. At Horses With Hope they are partners in human wellness.
Equine-assisted therapy programs have revolutionized mental health and physical rehabilitation, helping veterans with PTSD, children with developmental delays, and individuals navigating trauma. It might seem magical, but the efficacy of equine therapy is rooted in biology and psychology.
Your gift of any size will ensure that Horses with Hope not only survives, but thrives.
