Celebrating 10+ Years of "Helping Hooves"

The honor students of Helping Hooves, 2026

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. Today, we’re proud to spotlight a truly extraordinary group of young leaders who have been by our side for more than a decade: Helping Hooves, a group of honor students from Chartiers-Houston School.

How an Inspired Idea Became a Decade Long Legacy

More than ten years ago, a student at Chartiers-Houston School recognized the profound impact that equine therapy has on our community and wanted to connect her fellow students to something meaningful. She put together a proposal and presented the program concept directly to her school principal. The idea was enthusiastically accepted, Helping Hooves was officially born, and our barn has been profoundly changed for the better ever since.

A Decade of Blessings and Hard Work

Each year, new generations of Chartiers-Houston honor students step into the arena to carry this legacy forward. These remarkable young people don't just volunteer—they bring an incredible energy, dedication, and heart to everything they do. Whether they are assisting with lessons, maintaining our facilities, or caring for our therapy herd, the students of Helping Hooves have been an absolute blessing to our staff, our horses, and the participants we serve.
