Meet the Herd: Micah

A Legacy of Kindness

Micah is a handsome American Quarter Horse gelding with a heart as big as his resume. He joins the Horses With Hope program from the Shekinah Western Youth Ranch, where he spent over 15 years as a dedicated teacher and companion to young riders.

Known for his gentle spirit and unwavering patience, Micah is a seasoned professional when it comes to working with people. Whether he is carrying a child for their very first lesson or spending a quiet moment with an adult, his calm demeanor makes everyone feel at ease.

His name carries a special significance, rooted in the biblical prophet Micah, who encouraged others to live with kindness. Micah truly lives up to his namesake's famous call:

"...do justice and love goodness, and walk humbly with our God."

Life with the Herd

When he isn't busy in the arena, Micah can be found bonding with his with his best friends Sonny, CJ, and Cash. Sonny and CJ are his favorite partners for playing and blowing off steam in the round pen, and Cash is his preferred buddy for long afternoon naps in the warm sunshine of the field. While he gets along with everyone in the herd, he shares a particularly close bond with these three gentlemen.
