Spring Learning at Gilfillan Farm
This spring, history and hands-on innovation converge at Gilfillan Farm. We are opening our gates to students for a season of immersive outdoor education that goes beyond the classroom. Whether it’s stepping back in time to explore our local roots or building a sustainable future through inclusive design, our 2026 spring programs offer students the chance to learn by doing.
Join us in the fresh air this April and May to turn curiosity into experience!
Pennsylvania History Experience
History makes the most sense when we can feel it. In this six-week outdoor learning experience, students won’t just read about early Pennsylvania — they’ll live pieces of it.

Design & Build a Sensory Garden
This year, we're inviting 13–15-year-old students to embark on an exciting Project-Based Learning (PBL) adventure: designing, building, and maintaining a sensory-rich garden right here at Gilfillan Farm—specifically created to support peers with sensory differences, such as those on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, or sensory processing challenges.
